Douglas D. Cameron
Work History
Mr. Cameron is a founding member and partner of the firm. He has practiced law in Brighton since 1976. Mr. Cameron received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Kalamazoo College in 1973. During his time at “K” college, he received honors recognition and studied abroad in Muenster, Germany. Mr. Cameron received his Juris Doctorate degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1976 and was admitted to practice in Michigan in November, 1976. Prior to his admission to practice law, Mr. Cameron was employed by the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, the Ann Arbor Trust Company in Ann Arbor, Michigan and law offices in Brighton.
Licenses and Affiliations
Mr. Cameron is admitted to practice before all Michigan Courts and the Eastern District of the United State District Court in Michigan. Mr. Cameron is a member of the Livingston County Bar Association and is a past Secretary and Treasurer of that organization. He is a member of the Administration Law, consumer law, environmental law and real property law sections of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Cameron regularly serves as a Case Evaluator for the Livingston County Circuit Court.
Mr. Cameron volunteers his time to various community organizations including LACASA (formerly the Livingston Area Counsel Against Spousal Abuse). Mr. Cameron has also served several terms on the Executive Boards of Directors of both the Huron Valley Council of the Girls Scouts of America and the Great Saulk Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Family and Community
Mr. Cameron is a resident of the City of Brighton and has resided in the Brighton area for all but four years of his life. He is an avid fly-fisherman and is a long-time member of the Anglers of the Au Sable, a grassroots organization designed to preserve and protect the cold water fisheries of northern Michigan.
Areas of Practice
Mr. Cameron concentrates his practice in Real Estate Law, particularly emphasizing Residential and Commercial Development and Condominiums, Municipal Law and School Law. Mr. Cameron also teaches the Concealed Pistol Training Course required for CPL Licensing.
